Working at heights training is valid for three (3) years from the date of successful completion of an approved program. All learners who wish to maintain the validity of their working at heights training past this three year period need to successfully complete refresher training.
The refresher course covers the following topics:
• Barriers and other fixed equipment
• Personal fall protection equipment (travel restraint, fall restricting, fall arrest systems)
• Anchor points
• Work positioning systems, work access and platforms
• Rescue planning.
It includes a hands-on demonstration of equipment and procedures to ensure learners can successfully inspect and use the required fall protection equipment.
There is a written quiz at the end of each module.
Refresher training is valid for a three (3) year period from the date of successful completion of the refresher training.
As per the training standard, your previous Working at Heights training must be verified by your Learner ID number found on your CPO-issued proof of completion. If you have misplaced this card, you can contact the MOL for the number at 1-877-202-0008 and ask to speak to the Prevention Office. They will provide you with the number.
Your learner’s ID number must be included with the learner records when the refresher training records are submitted by us to the ministry. You may get a letter in the mail stating they have no proof of your original training without this number.
If you have not successfully completed an approved working at heights training program prior to enrolling in refresher training, the ministry will not process the refresher training learner record.
